ANIMALS 24-7: a date with the judge

A testimonial from Beth

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary.  Four years ago today,  Merritt and I stood before a judge for all the right reasons,  and were united as husband-and-wife.

We are thankful for each day we have together,  and thankful to be able to bring you the ANIMALS 24-7 news coverage.  It is a labor of love.

Merritt & I were already united as the ANIMALS 24-7 team.  For more than four years now,  we have together diligently delivered hard-hitting animal news to you online,  gathered from around the world.

Merritt & Beth Clifton

No puffery

We don’t do puff pieces or create “eye-candy” videos,  as so many websites do.  The feedback that we received from you for taking our straightforward approach is overwhelmingly positive.

We are confident that we are on the right course.  Our passion and dedication is relentless to give you, our readers the critical information that you need to be well informed about urgent animal issues.

ANIMALS 24-7‘s mission is not to make everyone happy,  but rather to give our readers an accurate, factual accounting of the many subjects involving the human and animal interface with our unique perspective as reporters who also bring to our work a wealth of hands-on experience helping almost every kind of animal,  from those with fur,  hooves,  or wings to fish,  frogs,  reptiles and even creepy-crawlies.

Our help

(We are of course assisted at all times by our animals.  Bo the dog sniffs out investigative news;  the cats chase the bugs off our web site.)

We dig deep into the issues you care about,  informed by the background Merritt has developed in 50 years as a working journalist,  reporting from more than forty nations,  gaining invaluable information about the animals, people,  and other cultures who share the world with us.

Never quitting

Writing about animals and their people,  including the good, the bad, the ugly and the uglier,  has always been part of Merritt’s work,  and his sole focus since 1988.

Several times in Merritt’s career,  starting all over again became necessary to develop appropriate media for his uncompromising reporting.  Under those difficult circumstances,  Merritt has never avoided covering a topic he deemed important.  As Merritt’s wife and ANIMALS 24-7 co-editor,  I proudly assist in every part of fulfilling that mission.

First the news.  Then the cookies!

While Merritt pours his heart and soul into the articles we publish, often putting days of research into single articles,  I work hard to create photos and collages to compliment his hard work,  as well as assisting Merritt with critical investigations.

Often we sit side-by-side working late into the night,  especially if the timing of the article is critical enough that we must publish it before pausing for tea and cookies.  This is what reporting real news is all about!  This is what we do here at ANIMALS 24-7!

    Hi Beth and Merritt,

Congrats! You two make one of the best couples I have ever met. Other than living together as a couple, you work together as a team, and have the results to show for it. I look forward to your new posts, for which I am thankful..

Thanks for this inspiring and heart-warming testimonial, Beth…. The animals are certainly grateful as they can be for your many efforts on their behalf, and we human animals are too…
