A few words about fur from Finland

December 20, 2014 By Merritt Clifton

Hi! I notice you do not have any news from Finland. Here is some: the Finn politician Jörn Donner arrived at a party with his wife Bitte Westerlund, whose red dress was made of sealskin. He said, “This is a political statement. It is for the fishermen, because seals eat fish. I think men must be allowed to shoot seals and use the skin traditionally in garments and objects. After all, it is forbidden now, and this is a forbidden dress. It is propaganda on behalf of killing the seals. I am of the same opinion.” http://www.iltasanomat.fi/linnanjuhlat/art-1417854142414.html

Westerlund had also a fur stole, as did many other visitors at the reception.

Here is news concerning of fur farming in Finland: “Violations uncovered in Estonian fur farm,” http://bnn-news.com/violations-uncovered-estonian-fur-farm-93322. While the fur farm itself is in Estonia, it is owned by the Finn company Norcar BSB.
