    Sterling work.

Thank you for your efforts, and for making Trooper’s story (Why Pit Bulls will Break your Heart) and his picture part of your efforts. The anguish and heart-break that often comes with ownership of Fighting Breed dogs is a subject not greatly touched upon, much less understood. To love the dangerous and finally unsalvageable dog, from cuddly puppy to the peace of an early demise, to do everything right and yet to finally acknowledge that one is up against implacably powerful and unstoppable genetics, is so very sad and poses the most heavy choice upon such an owner; one that you would not wish on others and seek to help others avoid. So brave.

    Thank you again.

Lesley, your compassion, empathy and understanding of what Trooper and I went through is poignant! I hope my sad story can help others. I do miss him, but not what our lives had become. I gave him a peaceful ending in my arms.

The very wealthy control the conversation on the pit bull issue, and they do it to protect financial interests in animal profiteering in the canine world.

They are throwing the pit bulls themselves under the bus to achieve their aims, and in addition to those connected to the breeding lobby, they use foolish and naive people, who don’t question their leaders, to do the dirty work.

When will these naive people understand they are being used to help pump up breeding and shield dog breeders from responsibility, and thus ensure the deaths of hundreds of thousands of dogs a year?

It takes intelligence and dignity to realize that one has been used, and most followers don’t have the courage to question their leaders or face reality. Thus all will continue to suffer, including the pit bulls themselves.
